Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Nautilus Document Converter is a tool for converting LibreOffice/OpenOffice document files to other formats, via Nautilus. Among others, it has support for the following input/output formats: ODF, MS Word, MS Office Open / MS OOXML, PDF, HTML, XHTML, RTF, Docbook, PNG or JPEG.
Nautilus PDF Tools enables the users to rotate, remove/extract pages from documents, merge and split PDFs directly from the Nautilus file manager, the default one from the GNOME desktop manager.
In this article I will show you how to install both Nautilus Document Converter and Nautilus PDFTools on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal and Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.
Because they are both available via PPA, installing Nautilus Document Converter and Nautilus PDFTools on Ubuntu is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the nautilus-document-converter and nautilus-pdftools packages. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/nautilus-extensions
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install nautilus-document-converter
$ sudo apt-get install nautilus-pdf-tools
