Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Paper Comic Viewer is an open source lightweight comic viewer, written in C++ and build by using the Qt libraries. It has support for the most popular comic formats, including cbr, cbz, cb7, pdf, and image dirs. Among other functions, it allows the user to rotate the images, offers an responsive continuous view and easily navigate between pages, and many others.
The latest version available is Paper Comic Viewer 0.5.0, which has been released a few days ago. For a full list of improvements and fixes, see the official changelog.
In this article I will show you how to install Paper Comic Viewer 0.5.0 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Debian Jessie, Debian Sid, Debian Wheezy, Debian Squeeze and Pear OS 8.
Because it is available via some third party PPA, installing Paper Comic Viewer 0.5.0 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS and Pear OS is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa, update the local repository index and install the paper package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:roi-gomez-lopez/paper
