How To Install PeerGuardian On Ubuntu, Linux Mint And Elementary OS

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, PeerGuardian is an open-source firewall application, that allows the users to easily block the packages from and to specified hosts. The latest version available is PeerGuardian 2.2.1, which was released a while ago.

how to install PeerGuardion 2.2.2.1 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

In this article I will show you how to install PeerGuardion 2.2.2.1 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

Because it is available via PPA, installing PeerGuardian 2.2.1 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS is easy. All you have to do is:

Add the repository:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jre-phoenix/ppa

Update the local repository index:

$ sudo apt-get update

Install PeerGuard:
