How To Install Pepper Flash Player 14.0 For Chromium, On Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 13.10, Ubuntu 12.04 And Derivative Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Pepper Flash is a version of Adobe Flash Player, specially developed for Chromium, which is open-source, and so, can’t get the Flash Player API implemented by default, due to proprietary licence issues. The latest version available is Pepper Flash Player 14.0.

how to install Chromium and Pepper Flash Player 14.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Pinguy OS 12.04, LXLE 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Isis, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna

In this article I will show you how to install Chromium and Pepper Flash Player 14.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Pinguy OS 12.04, LXLE 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Isis, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and Ubuntu derivative systems.

Both the Chromium and the Pepper Flash Plugin 14.0 installer are available via the default repositories, for Ubuntu 14.04, Linux Mint 17, Pinguy OS 14.04, LXLE 14.04 and Elementary OS 0.3 Isis, installing both of them is easy. Follow the instructions exactly, in order to successfully install Chromium and enable the Pepper Flash Plugin:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install chromium-browser
$ sudo apt-get install pepperflashplugin-nonfree
$ sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --install

Optional, to remove both chromium-browser and pepperflashplugin-nonfree, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove chromium-browser pepperflashplugin-nonfree

For Ubuntu 13.10, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 16, Linux Mint 13, Pinguy OS 12.04, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Chromium is available via the default repositories, but Pepper Flash Plugin 14.0 is available via some third party PPA, so installing it is easy. Follow the instructions exactly, in order to successfully install Chromium and enable the Pepper Flash Plugin:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install chromium-browser
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:skunk/pepper-flash
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install pepperflashplugin-nonfree
$ sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --install

Optional, to remove both chromium-browser and pepperflashplugin-nonfree, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove chromium-browser pepperflashplugin-nonfree
