Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Phototonic is an image viewer and organizer for Linux systems, created in Qt and C++. The latest version available is Phototonic 0.97, which has been recently released. For more information, see the changelog.
In this article I will show you how to install Phototonic 0.97 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and Linux Mint 17 Qiana.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Phototonic 0.97 on the listed Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17 systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the phototonic package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:samrog131/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install phototonic
Optional, to remove phototonic, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove phototonic
Or, if you want to uninstall phototonic, disable the recently added PPA and downgrade all the packages that got updated via the PPA, do:
$ sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
$ sudu ppa-purge ppa:samrog131/ppa
