How To Install Phototonic 0.99 On Ubuntu 14.04, Linux Mint 17 And Their Derivative Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Phototonic is an image viewer and organizer for Linux systems, created in Qt and C++. The latest version available is Phototonic 0.99, which has been recently released. For more information, see the changelog.

In this article I will show you how to install Phototonic 0.99 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04 and Elementary OS 0.3 Isis.

Because it is available via PPA, installing Phototonic 0.99 on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pinguy OS and Elementary OS systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the phototonic package. Like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:samrog131/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install phototonic

Optional, to remove phototonic, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove phototonic
