Hello Linux Geeksters. In this article I will show you how to install Plank on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
As you may already know, Plank is a simple and lightweight dock. Plank is the underlying app for Docky 3.0.0 and higher, and provides all the core features.
Plank is not included in the official Ubuntu repositories, maybe because there is no Plank stable version yet.
Let’s start the installation guide:
Add the PPA:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/docky
Update the repo index:
$ sudo apt-get update
Install Plank:
$ sudo apt-get install plank
To launch Plank, type the app name in the Unity Dash:
