How To Install Prime Indicator 0.1 On Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr And Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin

In this article I will show you how to install Prime Indicator 0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.

For Ubuntu 14.04, Prime Indicator 0.1 is available via PPA, so installing it is easy. All you have to do is add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the prime-indicator package. Like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install prime-indicator

For Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, we have to download the deb package from launchpad and install it with dpkg:

$ wget ppa.launchpad.net/nilarimogard/webupd8/ubuntu/pool/main/p/prime-indicator/prime-indicator_0.1-1+git20140109~webupd8~0_all.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i prime-indicator_0.1-1+git20140109~webupd8~0_all.deb
