Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Quimup is an open source music client written in C++ and QT4, that uses the music player daemon (MPD). The latest version available is Quimup 1.3.1, which has been recently released. For more information, see the changelog.

In this article I will show you how to install Quimup 1.3.1 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS, Elementary OS, Debian, Crunchbang and Kwheezy.

Because it is not available via PPA, we have to download the quimup packages from the official sourceforge site. Follow the instructions for your architecture’s exactly, in order to get a successful install:

How to install Quimup 1.3.1 on 32 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS, Elementary OS, Debian, Crunchbang and Kwheezy:

$ wget -c http://sourceforge.net/projects/musicpd/files/Quimup/1.3.1/quimup_1.3.1_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i quimup_1.3.1_i386.deb
$ sudo apt-get install -f

How to install Quimup 1.3.1 on 64 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS, Elementary OS, Debian, Crunchbang and Kwheezy:

$ wget -c http://sourceforge.net/projects/musicpd/files/Quimup/1.3.1/quimup_1.3.1_amd64.deb
