Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Rosegarden is a Qt app used for playback and recording, that provides some interesting features, including: a mixed Audio/MIDI sequencer, multi-track editor, music editing using piano-roll and score notation, lilypond and support for exporting Csound files. The latest stable version available is Rosegarden 13.10, which has been recently released.
In this article I will show you how to install Rosegarden 13.10 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pear OS 8, Pear OS 7 and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Rosegarden 13.10 on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS and Elementary OS is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the rosegarden package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kxstudio-team/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install rosegarden
