Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Rygel is a media solution, allowing the users to easily share audio, video and pictures to other devices. It enables the users to browse media on PC running the GNOME Desktop environment, from other devices.

The latest version available is Rygel 0.20.1, which has been released a while ago. For a full list of changes and improvements, see the official release notes.
In this article I will show you how to install Rygel 0.20.1 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Linux Mint 16 Petra.
In order to get a successful installation of Rygel 0.20.1 on the latest versions of Ubuntu and Linux Mint systems, do the following:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-staging
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gstreamer-developers/ppa
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vala-team/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install rygel
