Hello Linux Geeksters. SeaMonkey 2.21 final has been officially released today. For those who don’t know, SeaMonkey is a community driven web browser, IRC client and email client, originally developed by the Mozilla team. It shares some code with Thunderbird, Chatzilla and maybe other Mozilla apps.To see a list of changes, since the previous stable version, read the official announcement.
In this article I will show you how to install SeaMonkey 2.21 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
Because it is available via PPA, installing SeaMonkey 2.21 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy. All you have to do is add the UbuntuZilla PPA, update the local repository index and install the seamonkey-mozilla-dev:
$ sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com C1289A29
$ echo -e "\ndeb http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/ubuntuzilla/mozilla/apt all main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list > /dev/null
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install seamonkey-mozilla-dev
