Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Sismics Reader is an open-source, multi-platform feed reader, having a simple and intuitive interface. Among others, it has support for both RSS and ATOM feeds, allowing the users to export OPML feed lists, manager feeds and organize them in groups and categories. The latest version available is Sismics Reader 1.3, which has been recently released.

In this article I will show you how to install Sismics Reader 1.3 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Elementary OS, Kwheezy, Crunchbang, Fedora and CentOS.
Because it is not available via any repository, we have to download the deb/rpm packages and install them via dpkg/rpm. Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
How to install Sismics Reader 1.3 on Ubuntu, Debian and derivative systems:
$ wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/sismicsreader/files/release/1.3/reader-1.3.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i reader-1.3.deb
How to install Sismics Reader 1.3 on Fedora and CentOS:
$ wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/sismicsreader/files/release/1.3/reader-1.3-1.noarch.rpm
$ sudo rpm -i reader-1.3-1.noarch.rpm
