Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Springseed is an open-source software that enables the users to easily manage notes, via a pretty and intuitive graphical user interface. Also worth mentioning, it allows the users to sync the notes via Dropbox and has drag and drop support.

The latest version available is Springseed 1.1, which has been recently released. For more information, see the changelog.

In this article I will show you how to install Springseed 1.1 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Elementary OS, Kwheezy, Crunchbang and other Ubuntu/Debian derivative systems.

Because it is not available via any repository or PPA, we have to download the deb packages from the official site and install them by hand. Follow the instructions for your system’s architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation.

How to install Springseed 1.1 on 32 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Elementary OS, Kwheezy and Crunchbang systems:

$ wget repo.getspringseed.com/springseed_1.1.0_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i springseed_1.1.0_i386.deb

How to install Springseed 1.1 on 64 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Elementary OS, Kwheezy and Crunchbang systems:

$ wget repo.getspringseed.com/springseed_1.1.0_amd64.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i springseed_1.1.0_amd64.deb
