Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, StreamStudio (formally known as Ht5streamer) is an open-source, streaming application based on node-webkit and developed in HTML5, JavaScript and CSS. It has support for streaming content from Youtube, DailyMotion and other popular video streaming websites, allowing the users to search for videos by specified criteria, find playlists and browse suggested videos.
The latest version available is StreamStudio 1.13, which has been released a while ago, coming with small changes and bug-fixes.
In this article I will show you how to install StreamStudio 1.13 on Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Deepin 2014, Peppermint Five, LXLE 14.04 and other Ubuntu 14.10 and Ubuntu 14.04 derivative systems.
Because it is available via PPA, installing StreamStudio 1.13 on Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the streamstudio package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install streamstudio
Optional, to remove streamstudio, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove streamstudio
