Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Sublime Text 3 is a lightweight, multi-platform, text editor. It is installable on Ubuntu, Windows and Mac OS X. Sublime Text has a proprietary licence, but the application can also be used for free, without needing to do reverse engineer hacking. Those who want to support the developer’s work can buy Sublime Text for $70.

Sublime Text 3 is still a beta, the latest version available being Sublime Text 3 Build 3065.
In this article I will show you how to install Sublime Text 3 (Build 3065) on Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Pinguy OS 14.04, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0, Debian Jessie, Debian Wheezy, Fedora 21, Fedora 20, OpenSUSE 13.1, OpenSUSE 12.3, Mageia 4, OpenMandriva 2014, Arch Linux and Manjaro systems.
To install Sublime Text 3 (Build 3065), we have to download the application’s sources, move it to /opt, for global usage, link it to /bin/subl and create a desktop entry.

How to install Sublime Text 3 (Build 3065) on 32 bit Linux systems:
Download Sublime Text 3, extract the archive, move it to /opt and symlink the sublime_text executable, for global usage:
$ wget http://c758482.r82.cf2.rackcdn.com/sublime_text_3_build_3065_x32.tar.bz2
$ tar -xjvf sublime_text_3_build_3065_x32.tar.bz2
$ sudo mv ~/sublime_text_3/ /opt/
$ sudo ln -s /opt/sublime_text_3/sublime_text /bin/subl
Create a desktop entry:
$ cat << EOF > ~/.local/share/applications/sublime.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Sublime Text
Exec=subl %F
