Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, SuperTux is a clone of Mario Classic, working on Linux Systems. In this game, Mario is replaced by Tux the penguin, but the gameplay is loyal to Classic Mario. The latest version available is SuperTux 0.3.4, which is still under development.
In this article I will show you how to install SuperTux 0.3.4 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Panglin, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pear OS 8, Pear OS 7 and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Because it is available via PPA, installing SuperTux 0.3.4 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS and Elementary OS is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the supertux package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:landronimirc/supertux-git
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install supertux
