Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Switchboard is a centralised hub for doing system configurations, developed for the Elementary OS system. It enables the users to manage different system services, having the settings devided in four categories: network and wireless, hardware, personal and system. The latest version available is Switchboard 1.0.1, which recently got support for Ubuntu Trusty.

In this article I will show you how to install Switchboard 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Pear OS 8.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Switchboard 1.0.1 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Pear OS is easy. All you have to do is add the Elementary OS PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the switchboard package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-os/daily
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install switchboard
