Hi, I have this laptop (http://www.toshiba.com/us/computers/laptops/satellite/C50/C55DT-B5208). It has the AMD Radeon R5 graphics card. I can’t even boot onto the Mint 17 LiveUSB. It loads the GRUB just fine, but when I make my selection to boot into Mint 17 (for trial or installation) it just has a black screen. Do you know how to fix this? The same thing happens with PartedMagic. I can’t boot into it either. Seems to be missing the graphics driver, I think, which is preventing Linux from loading. I believe this is the needed driver here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Linux%20x86_64#amd-catalyst-packages
Thanks!
Gabriel
