Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Google Tasks is a service integrated in GMail that enables the users to easily manage their notes and activities from the internet browser. Via the Google Tasks Indicator, the users are able to view and manange their “Google Tasks” from the Ubuntu panel. The latest version available is Google Tasks Indicator 0.5.2, which got a few GTK+3 improvements and bug-fixes. It works well on Unity, XFCE and LXDE.
In this article I will show you how to install the Google Tasks Indicator 0.5.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, and Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Google Tasks Indicator 0.5.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 13.10 is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the google-tasks-indicator package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/atareao
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install google-tasks-indicator
