In this article I will show you how to install the Libertine Font 5.3.0 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and Pear OS 8.

For Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Linux Mint 16 Petra, the Libertine Font 5.3.0 is available via the default repositories, so installing it is easy. Just update the local repository index and install the fonts-linuxlibertine package:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install fonts-linuxlibertine

For Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and Pear OS 8, we will need to use some third party ppa, in order to install the Libertine Font 5.3.0:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:olivier-berten/fonts
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install fonts-linuxlibertine
