Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, the Nvidia 337.19 Beta drivers for Linux have been recently released, coming with a bug-fix fix for HDMI at 4K resolutions, a few new nvidia-settings command-line commands for over clocking and under clocking the GPU and a few fixes for the NVIDIA Settings GUI for controlling the clock, among others. For information about this release, see the official announcement.
In this article I will show you how to install Nvidia 337.19 Beta on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Elementary OS 0.3 Isis and Pinguy OS 14.04, via PPA.
Because it is available via PPA, installing the Nvidia 337.19 Beta drivers on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS and Pinguy OS systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the nvidia-337 and nvidia-337-uvm packages. Like this:
$ sudo apt-get remove nvidia*
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install nvidia-337 nvidia-337-uvm
Optional, to remove the nvidia-337 and nvidia-337-uvm drivers, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove nvidia-337 nvidia-337-uvm
I require 337 driver for Spaceengine 0.9.7.1 but exist only 340-343 series
how to get it without binaries install?
unfortunately nvidia-337 got deleted from the PPA, so there is not other way, try to install it via the binaries.
