Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, the NVIDIA 343.13 Beta GPU driver for Linux has been released recently, coming with support for the NVIDIA GeForce 830A and NVIDIA 810M GPUs. Also, it comes with a lot of bug-fixes. Read the changelog for information about it.
Also worth mentioning, the future versions of the driver will contain an uninstalling feature, that will remove the previous drivers from the system.
In this article I will show you how to install the Nvidia 343.13 Beta on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0 and other Ubuntu 14.04 derivative systems.
Because it is available via PPA, installing the Nvidia 343.13 Beta drivers on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pinguy OS, Elementary OS, Deepin, Peppermint, LXLE and Linux Lite systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the nvidia-graphics-drivers-331 package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mamarley/nvidia
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install nvidia-343 nvidia-settings
Optional, to remove the Nvidia drivers, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove nvidia-343 nvidia-settings
