Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Thunderbird 24.1.0 has been released a while ago, bringing improvements to the previous version. There is no official release note yes, so we don’t know much about the latest update patch.

In this article I will show you how to install Thunderbird 24.1.0 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pear OS 8, Pear OS 7 and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Because it is available via the Mozilla Security PPA, installing Thunderbird 24.1.0 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS and Elementary OS is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the thunderbird package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install thunderbird
