Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Tintii is an open source Photoshop plugin and standalone photo filter application which allows the users to easily add black and white effects on photos, without having to use complicated software.

The latest version available is Tintii 2.9.0, which has been recently released.

In this article I will show you how to install Tintii 2.9.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, LXLE 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Peppermint Five and other Ubuntu 14.04 derivative systems.

Because it is available via PPA, installing Tintii 2.9.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the tintii package. Like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dhor/myway
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install tintii

Optional, to remove tintii, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove tintii
