Hello Linux Geeksters. Tribler is an open-source, cross platform BitTorrent client, similar to Transmission or qBittorrent. It is a lightweight torrent app, but it has many awesome features, it allows the user search for files by the integrated search engine, it has a Family Filter, forbiding the download access of some certain types of files and many others. The latest version available is Tribler 6.2.
In this article I will show you how to install Tribler 6.2 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
Installing Tribler 6.2 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy, all you have to do is download the deb package, for your system’s architecture, and install Tribler by hand:
