Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Typhoon is an open-source weather application, forked from Stormcloud 1.1, which is not available for free. The latest version available is Typhoon 0.8.9, which has been recently released, coming with a bunch of bug-fixes and a new option for adjusting the window’s opacity.
In this article I will show you how to install Typhoon 0.8.9 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04 and Elementary OS 0.3 Isis.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Typhon on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pinguy OS and Elementary OS systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the typhoon package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:apandada1/typhoon
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install typhoon
To remove typhoon, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove typhoon
