Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Variety is an app indicator that changes the desktop wallpaper, using automatically downloaded images from: Wallbase, Flickr, Wallpapers.net, Desktoppr, NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day.
It works well on the most popular desktop environments: Unity, Gnome Shell, KDE, XFCE, LXDE, Cinnamon, Mate and Pantheon. The latest Variety version, Variety 0.4.17 has support for Cinnamon 1.8 and Mate 1.6, which are the available on Linux Mint 15 Olivia.
Being an app indicator, it can be easily paused and resumed from the Unity panel. The user can use its mouse wheel to scroll up and down in the picture list, in order to choose the perfect image for its mood.
The latest version available is Variety 0.4.17, which has been released on the 26th of September, in order to bring some important fixes to the previous version.
