Whisker is an and innovative alternative for the XFCE default menu, including a modern search bar and enabling users to easily access all the installed apps from the system, or access applications by categories. It also remembers the last 10 used applications. The Whisker Menu is the default application menu for Linux Mint 15 XFCE.

The latest version available is Whisker 1.3.2, which has been recently released, bringing a few bugfixes only. For more information, see this page.
In this article I will show you how to install Whisker Menu 1.3.2 on Xubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Xubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Xubunu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Xubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Xubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya, all running the XFCE desktop environment.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Whisker Menu 1.3.2 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint systems using the XFCE desktop manager is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and instal the whisker-menu-plugin package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gottcode/gcppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin
