the Linux systems. The latest version available is XFCE 4.11.1, which is just a development upgrade to the previous version, preparing the release of the next major XFCE version, XFCE 4.12.

XFCE 4.11 brings bugfixes and optimizations, involving icon display, improves the handling of the background, adds a new feature for setting random wallpapers and many others.

Because it is available via PPA, installing XFCE 4.11.1 on Xubuntu is easy. All you have to do is add the needed ppas to your system, update the local repository index and install the xfce4 package. Like this:
