Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, XFCE Theme Manager is an open-source tool for XFCE, that allows you to customize the window borders, controls, icons, mouse cursors or change the wallpaper. It also has an advanced settings menu, for advanced users, let’s say, that enables you to change the team preview size (huge, large, medium or small), save the modifications you have created to the theme, install new theams by drag and dropping the tar.gz archives or reset the theme to its default settings.
The latest version available is XFCE Theme Manager 0.3.6, which has been released a while ago, coming with minor changes only. For information about this release, see the changelog.
In this article I will show you how to install XFCE Theme Manager 0.3.6 on Xubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Xubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and other Ubuntu 14.10 and Ubuntu 14.04 derivative systems that use XFCE as the default desktop environment.
Because it is available via PPA, installing XFCE Theme Manager 0.3.6 on Xubuntu 14.10 and Xubuntu 14.04 systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the xfce-theme-manager package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rebuntu16/other-stuff
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install xfce-theme-manager
To launch the application, just open a terminal, type xfce-theme-manager and hit enter.
Optional, to remove xfce-theme-manager, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove xfce-theme-manager
