Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Zim is a graphical text editor for managing wiki pages. The wiki pages are stored locally, in a folder structure, each page being stored in a folder dedicated to it. Among others, it enables the users to keep an archive of notes, save drafts and organize tasks. Since the wiki pages are stored in normal text files, they can be easily edited in ordinary text editors. Also, it supports various plugins, that extend Zim’s functionality. The latest version available is Zim 0.60, which has been released not long ago.
In this article I will show you how to install Zim Desktop Wiki 0.60 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS, Elementary OS, Debian, KWheezy and Crunchbang.
Because there is no ppa or repository available, we have to download the deb package from the official website and install it with dpkg. Like this:
$ wget zim-wiki.org/downloads/zim_0.60_all.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i zim_0.60_all.deb
$ sudo apt-get install -f
