Hello Linux Geeksters. ht5streamer is a community driven application for watching videos over the internet, provided by the most popular video services. It enables the user to search and watch videos from inside the app, without third party plugins, Flash or even to start an internet browser.

The ht5streamer app is similar to SMPlayer, using html5, javascript and css for video viewing. For now, it has support for YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, but many other portals will be added soon.

Installation instructions:

Ht5streamer comes with precompiled binaries, so it does not need to be installed.

Install some dependencies, for both 32 and 64 bit systems:

$ sudo apt-get install ffmpeg libavcodec-extra-53 chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

Download and run Ht5streamer on 32 bit systems:

$ wget -c sd-20470.dedibox.fr/ht5streamer/free/ht5streamer-32.zip
$ unzip ht5streamer-32.zip
$ sudo chmod +x ht5streamer
$ ./ht5streamer

Download and run Ht5streamer on 64 bit systems:

$ wget -c sd-20470.dedibox.fr/ht5streamer/free/ht5streamer-64.zip
$ unzip ht5streamer-64.zip
$ sudo chmod +x ht5streamer
$ ./ht5streamer

Having some generical installation steps, this guide works for Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubunu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Debian Jessie, Debian Sid, Debian Wheezy, Debian Squeeze and many others.
