As you may know, Linphone is an open-source VoIP service that allows the users to perform voice calls, video calls and text conversations with friends and other Linphone users.

The latest version avaialble is Linphone 3.9.1 which has been recently released, bringing the below changes:
- Fix crash when recording video calls with the VP8 codec
- Fix translation of account assistant
- Bug fixes
Installation instructions:
The latest Linphone builds are available via some third party PPA, so installing it on Ubuntu should not cause too many problems. You just need to add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the linphone package:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linphone/release
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install linphone
Optional, to remove linphone, do:
$ sudo apt-get install linphone
The installation instructions should work on Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf, Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and derivative systems, including Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Deepin 2014, Peppermint 6, Peppermint 5, LXLE 14.04 and Linux Lite 2.
