QuiteRSS 0.18.3 (RSS Reader) Has Been Released

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, QuiteRSS is an open-source RSS reader, written on Qt and C++.

The latest version available is QuiteRSS 0.18.3 which has been released recently released, bringing changes:

  • Added: Setting to set mouse buttons to open news
  • Changed: Update SQLite library to 3.10.0 version
  • Changed: Updating news in newspaper view using descending sort
  • Fixed: Duplicate notification sound playback (Ubuntu)
  • Fixed: Application crash if quit while settins dialog is open
  • Fixed: Application crash while using search and filters
  • Fixed: Application crash while adding local feed
  • Fixed: News publish time of some feeds

Installation instructions:

Up to date packages are available via some third party PPA, so installing the software on Ubuntu should not cause too many headaches. Just add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the yawls package:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:quiterss/quiterss
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install quiterss

Optional, to remove quiterss, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove quiterss

The installation instructions should work on Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17.3 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and other Ubuntu derivative systems.
