Redis Server 3.0.2 Has Been Released

Redis Server 3.0.2 brings a bunch of fixes only.

As you may know, Redis Server is an open-source, key value data store for Cassandra, CouchDB and MongoDB.

The latest version available is Redis Server 3.0.2, which has been recently released, coming with with changes:

  • Critical security issue fix
  • SMOVE reply fixed when src and dst keys are the same.
  • Lua cmsgpack lib updated to support str8 type.
  • ZADD support for options: NX, XX, CH. See new doc at
  • Senitnel: CKQUORUM and FLUSHCONFIG commands back ported.

Redis Server 3.0.2 Has Been Released

Installation instructions:

The latest Redis Server versions are available via some third party PPA, so installing it on Ubuntu and derivative systems is easy. Just add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the redis-server package:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chris-lea/redis-server
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install redis-server

Optional, to remove redis, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove redis-server

The installation instructions should work on Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Deepin 2014, Peppermint 6, Peppermint 5, LXLE 14.04 and Linux Lite 2.
