How To Install SmillaEnlarger 0.9 On Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 14.04 And Derivative Systems

As you may know, SmillaEnlager is an open source graphical tool for photo resizing and magnifying bitmaps in high quality, written in C++ and based on the Qt libraries.

The latest version available is SmillaEnlarger 0.9, which has been released a while ago. While the development of Smillaenlarger has been dropped, the software is still installable on Ubuntu and derivative systems.

Install Smillaenlanger on Ubuntu

Installation instructions:

Up to date packages are available via some third party PPA, so installing the software on Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17.x, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya and other Ubuntu derivative systems is easy.

All you need to do is add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the smillaenlarger package:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:anton+/photo-video-apps
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install smillaenlarger

Optional, to remove smillaenlarger, do:

$ sudo apt-get install smillaenlarger
