Linux Mint 18 Will Be Code-Named Sarah

Linux Mint’s Clement Lefebvre has announced that Linux Mint 18 will be named Sarah. The codenames of major releases use the next letter, from the alphabet, while the point releases’ names start all with the same letter.

Example: Linux Mint 13 – Maya, Linux Mint 14 – Nadia, Linux Mint 15 – Olivia, Linux Mint 16 – Petra, Linux Mint 17 – Qiana. Linux Mint 17.1 – Rebecca, Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa and now Linux Mint 18.

Also worth mentioning, Linux Mint 18 will be based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus LTS, will may get released in May or June 2016 and will be supported until 2021.
