Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) 2.0 Betsy has been recently released, in the two traditional flavors: Cinnamon and Mate.
Using Debian 8.0 Jessie as code-base, LMDE 2.0 brings the the renewed system installer, it comes with the deb-multimedia repository enabled by default and comes with Firefox 37, VLC 2.2.0, LibreOffice 4.3.3.2, GIMP 2.8.14, Mint Update 4.8.2, mintUpload 4.0.1 and synaptic 0.81, by default.
When ready, the new features and applications, are first implemented in Linux Mint Debian Edition 2.0, before they find their way in the Linux Mint 17.x releases.
Being based on Debian (and not Ubuntu), LMDE does not have support for PPAs.
