Yesterday, on the 3rd of October, Mageia 4 Alpha 3 has been officially released, being available two many flavours: KDE (KDE 4.11.1), GNOME (GNOME 3.10). Also , LXDE, RazorQt, Mate and Cinnamon can be easily installed

It is running on the Linux Kernel 3.11.2, having LibreOffice 4.1.2.3 already pre-installed, systemd 207, RPM 4.11.0, Mono 3.2.1, Qt 4.8.5, Monodevelop 4.0.9, Gambas3 3.4.2, and Perl 5.18.1 RAID management. It still uses GRUB as the default bootloader, but also GRUB2 is available via the default repositories.
Also, it comes with MageiaWelcome, a welcome screen displayed n the first boot, offering the users links to the Mageia websites.
It is available as both, two Live CD images with Gnome and KDE, for the 32 bit (i386) architecure and four Live DVD images, for both 32 bit (i386) and 64 bit (amd64) architectures, available with KDE and GNOME.
