Hello Linux Geeksters. As a reminder, both Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Touch OS will be released on the 17th of October. While Mir will not be used as default on Ubuntu desktop, it will debut on Canonical’s mobile version of Ubuntu, replacing Android’s SurfaceFlinger.
The latest daily images of Ubuntu Touch already include the Mir Display server as default. Now, the developers are working at deploying Mir on Ubuntu Touch, running on LG Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus.
There is still work to be done until the official release of Ubuntu Touch, but is a good thing that Mir has been finally added by default.
