It uses GTK+, runs on Wayland and provides a backend for the Weston reference compositor, using GNOME Web as the default internet browser, mimicking the Gnome Shell experience.

In this article I will show you how to install Maynard desktop on your Raspberry Pi running Raspbian.

Because the installation script is available via raspberrypi.collabora.co.uk, installing Maynard on Raspbian is easy. All you have to do is download the script and execute it:

$ wget http://raspberrypi.collabora.co.uk/setup-maynard.sh
$ sudo bash ./setup-maynard.sh

To run maynard, do:

$ maynard
