Hello Linux Geeksters. The Ubuntu developers have updated Mir again, bringing fixes for some serious performance issues, not long after the last update.

Mir Gets Importat Performance Issues By Canonical

Among other fixes, The Canonical developers fixed the mir_demo_client_scroll issue, which was running only at 30 FPS and made possible the abilitity to render  at full speed with two buffers issue.

To get the latest Mir improvements, just perform a normal system upgrade:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Despite the fact that the development for both the desktop and mobile versions of Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr has just started, Mir has been already implemented on them. Canonical is very interested in making from Mir a stable system compositor, in order to reach full convergence between the desktop-mobile versions of Ubuntu with the release of Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr.
