As you may have read, Mozilla Thunderbird 17.0.6 has just been released. If you are also a fan on Mozilla Thunderbird, see how you can install it on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal and Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.
Because it is in the Ubuntu Updates Main repository, which is added by default on the latest Ubuntu systems, all you have do to is:
Make sure your system is fully up to date:
$ sudo apt-get update
Install the latest Thunderbird:
$ sudo apt-get install thunderbird
