This time, noobs is not synonym with newbies. The NOOBS (New Out Of the Box Software) installation system for Raspberry Pi allows its users to experiment different operating systems on their RPi.
NOOBS is a 4GB software that has included all the Raspberry Pi operating systems and allows the user to choose which one to install on its Pi box. This is ideal for the users that want to try different operating systems and need to restore easily the installation to another OS.
To open the NOOBS environment press Shift during boot. It also has a text editor to edit config files and a browser, giving the possibility to lookup the operating systems on the internet.
To try NOOBS, go to RaspberryPi.org in the download section, download noobs*.zip, unpack it on your SD card and you are good to go.
