Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, SMPlayer is a another free front-end for MPlayer (like Gnome MPlayer). The latest version available is SMPlayer 0.8.6, which has been released a few days ago, bringing some improvements to the previous version. For a full list of changes, see this link.

In this article I will show you how to install SMPlayer 0.8.6 on Fedora 19 and Fedora 18.

$ wget -c dl.atrpms.net/f19-i386/atrpms/stable/atrpms-repo-19-6.fc19.i686.rpm
$ sudo rpm -i atrpms-repo-19-6.fc19.i686.rpm
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install smplayer
How to install SMPlayer 0.8.6 on Fedora 18:
