hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, the Mozilla developers are creating a new Haida graphical user interface, in order to provide a better mobile experience, in Firefox OS 1.4.

The new Haida Interface, completely re-written in HTML, CSS and JavaScript will improve the management of multi-tasking, facilitating a faster switch between aplications and webpages, by swiping the screen and not by using the task manager, as this is done in Firefox OS 1.3. Also, a new drop-down menu has been added, in order to enable the users to easily access the application settings from the touchscreen, and not for the device’s buttons.
And this is not all. Enhancements for the adress book search, bookmarks and browser history have been added. Haida fill enable everybody to customize the lock screen.
The full list of the new features that Haida will bring to Firefox OS 1.4:
- Sheets navigation
- Browser Integration into System
- Rocketbar
- Replaceable Homescreen
- Customizable Lockscreen
- Visual Design Refresh
- Updated Systems Tray and Notifications
- Updated Homescreen
- New Content Model (bookmarks, etc)
For now, Line is available for Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Nokia Asha, and Firefox OS.
For those who don’t know yet, Firefox OS is a new Linux based mobile operating system, built by using the new HTML5 technology by the Mozilla developers. For now, it is used as default on smartphones with modest hardware specs, developed by LG, ZTE, Alcatel and Geeksphone.
