Hello Firefox OS Enthusiasts. The next Firefox OS based device will be Huawei Ascend Y300II, which will be released with Telefonica, an important mobile operator that launched both Alcatel One Touch Fire and ZTE Open in Latin America.
The hardware specifications of Huawei Ascend Y300II:
- Firefox OS 1.2 (which is still under development)
- 1 GHz Dual Core processor
- 512 MB of RAM
- 4 GB internal storage + microSD card slot
- 5MPX main camera with LED Flash and 0.3MPX front camera
- 4″ display
- WiFi b/g/n
- Bluetooth 2.1
Huawei Ascend Y300II will be the Firefox OS based devices with the best hardware specs, having faster CPU and bigger memory than LG Fireweb, which currently is the best smartphone running Mozilla’s mobile OS.
For those who don’t know yet, Firefox OS is a new Linux based mobile operating system, built by using the new HTML5 technology by the Mozilla developers. For now, it is used as default on smartphones with modest hardware specs, developed by LG, ZTE, Alcatel, Geek and a few others. It has been also ported experimentally on the Google Nexus 7 tablet, but there are some apps that don’t work yet.
