During the Ubuntu Developer Summit, there were discussions on the release date of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. For now, the release of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is scheduled on the 17th of April, six months later after the official release of Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander.

Because Microsoft XP reaches end of life (EOL) on the 8th of April, Canonical will try to convinse as many users as they can that Ubuntu is the solution for the Windows XP users. There were also discussions about releasing Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on the 24th of April, one week after the initial schedule.
We’ll live and see what the developers will decide.
