As you may know, Canonical has been working hard at Ubuntu Touch lately, with OTA-8 already released and OTA-9 update scheduled for January 2016, Canonical has focused a lot on the OTA-8.5 hotfix, which should squash all the remaining bugs from OTA-8.

Right now, OTA-8.5 is in final testing and it will be decided in a few days if it gets approved or not. Most likely, the update will get released on December 21.
OTA-9 will be also an interesting release, because Ubuntu Touch will be remased on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus.
As a reminder, Ubuntu Touch is Canonical’s mobile version of Ubuntu and is pre-installed only on the Bq Aquaris E4.5, Bq Aquaris E5 and Meizu MX4 but is also supported on Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.
